The Festa continues in Sicily!!!

• We would never make you travel early after the last night of ICI’s 25 Anniversary Celebration! Therefore today, after breakfast, you will enjoy an special brunch prepared by the Italian Culinary Institute.
• Free afternoon for rest, the beach with an open prosecco and wine bar or on the ICI terrace with a full open bar with the Evangelos Triantafyllopoulos.
• Dinner at a classic pizzeria.
• Overnight at the hotel.

• Morning departure with breakfast on the way to cross the Straits of Messina for Sicily.
• Those who’ve read the Odyssey, will remember what a terrible time Ulysses had getting past Scylla and Charybdis during crossing what is now known as the Straits of Messina.
• We’ll have an easier time on one of Italy’s traghetto. A special tradition that we follow on the boat is to eat an arancino. Aficionados throughout Italy actually travel to the ferry only for a taste of this exclusive delicacy!
• After crossing with the ferry, we continue and arrive in Taormina, established in 358 BC.

Free time for visiting some of the most precious and intact Roman and Ancient Greek ruins outside of Greece including the Greek Theater (300 BC), Palazzo Corvaja (10th century), the Duomo (13th century) and much more.

Taormina’s winding streets are filled with a myriad of shops and eateries and sightseeing is endless. Taormina truly characterizes the island of Sicily. The ancient city is surrounded by incredible beauty and is situated on a bluff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and Europe’s most active volcano, Mt. Etna. Shopping in Taormina is a sogno siciliano…a Sicilian Dream!

• Late morning departure to the centuries old Pescheria di Catania, the Catania Fish Market.

• Anyone who loves food as much as we do is in heaven here. In addition to being the islands largest fish market, the Pescheria di Catania is rich in history.
• Today you’ll choose together with the chefs what will be prepared for a classic Sicilian cooking demo and tasting. One of the most satisfying aspects of cooking is creating. Selecting raw materials at this market is an experience of a lifetime..
• Although it’s a demo if you want to clean the fish, you are certainly welcomed to do so!
• We’ll make a stop for a caffè and, of course, some Sicilian delicacies like cannoli, cassata or gelato and then return to Taormina.
• For lunch the chefs will cook live and present several classic Sicilian preparations based on what you chose at the market. Pasta alle sarde, bottarga fresca, gambero rosso crudo and much more can be done and naturally everything will be paired with delicious wines.

• Late morning departure for a winery at Mt. Etna, the home of the tallest, largest and most active volcano in Europe. Thanks to its proximity, the land here is extremely fertile and especially favorable to grapes. We will taste several wines with a sommelier, accompanied by local delicacies.

• Return to Taormina.
• Farewell dinner Sicilian style followed by after dinner drinks on the terrace.

• Upon return, we stop in Messina for a visit to a pasticceria, a baking laboratory, where we eat Sicily’s famous focaccia, pastries and a caffè.
